Keel-laying ceremony for a floating dock under construction for Atomflot FSUE

On March 15, the wharf of Kuzey Star Shipyard Denizcilik Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi in Istanbul (Turkey) hosted the keel-laying ceremony for a floating dock for Project 22220 universal nuclear-powered icebreakers. The event was attended by representatives of Atomflot FSUE.

"The construction of the floating dock is on schedule," noted Mustafa Kashka, Atomflot's Director General. – The professional competence of Turkish shipbuilders is beyond doubt. Strict adherence to the construction schedule is very important for us. The floating dock is a key element of the shore-based infrastructure for maintenance of the Project 22220 nuclear icebreakers."

According to the contract terms, the construction, including the delivery of the floating dock to the port of Murmansk, will take 29 months.

The contract for the floating dock construction was signed between Atomflot FSUE and Kuzey Star Shipyard Denizcilik Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi (Turkey) on June 7, 2021.

The purchase was implemented in accordance with the Uniform Industry Procurement Standard of ROSATOM under Russian Federation Federal Law No. 223-FZ "On the procurement of goods, works and services by individual types of legal entities." The contract price was 4.981 billion rubles. A purchase closing protocol was published on May 27, 2021.

The dock under construction will have a capacity of 30 thousand tons. Key dimensions: maximum length with crinolines: at least 220 m; dock floor length: at least 200 m; maximum width: ca. 48 m; pontoon height: ca. 6 m. Crew: ca. 30.
