On December 16, 2021, the Yamal nuclear-powered icebreaker took the Pugnax module carrier, heading from China to Murmansk, for escort. This was reported by FSUE Atomflot.

On board the vessel there are modules for the construction of LNG plants in the port of Sabetta, section No. 2 at the Utrenneye field.

Atomflot noted that today all nuclear-powered ships operate under contractual obligations.

Under the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, the operational headquarters for responding to ice conditions difficult for navigation in the water area of ​​the Northern Sea Route continues to operate under the leadership of Deputy General Director - Director of the Northern Sea Route Directorate Vyacheslav Ruksha, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the government of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, FSUE Atomflot, JSC OSK, PAO NOVATEK, PAO MMC Norilsk Nickel, OOO KAZ Minerals, PAO Gazpromneft, OOO Gazpromneft Shipping and PAO NK Rosneft.

Now the Headquarters, together with the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, is considering the possibility of a second voyage, the implementation of which is associated with the commissioning of the Sibir nuclear-powered icebreaker.

Let us add that the lead universal nuclear icebreaker of project 22220 "Arktika" is assisting a convoy of three ships to the port of Pevek. The convoy includes the Polar King, Engineer Trubin and Yuri Arshenevsky motor ships.
