GTLK is engaged in negotiations with Trotsenko about vessels for the "North Star"

According to the Director General of GTLK, Yevgeny Dietrich, the company has prepared a proposal.

The State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) is negotiating with the head of the Aeon board of directors Roman Trotsenko on the creation of a fleet for the export of coal from the North Star deposit (part of Aeon), has prepared a proposal for 8 vessels, the Director General of GTLK Yevgeny Dietrich told reporters on the sidelines of the "Transport week" exhibition.

"Negotiations are progressing. We have prepared a proposal. The project, which they plan to implement, includes mining equipment and ships. They think, we have already made an offer to our colleagues concerning vessels.  We are working on mining equipment, other nuances and aspects are under development," said Dietrich.

"We have now proposed eight vessels. I will not give any comments on the sum," he said.

Dietrich explained that the implementation of the project involves the participation of several parties - the leasing company, which the GTLK plans to act as, the lessee and the companies that will operate the supplied equipment and vessels.

Earlier, in an interview with TASS Trotsenko said that the first stage of the North Star project would require 22 vessels, and the second - 18.

Trotsenko specified that the vessels would be ordered in batches of 10 each. The tender among shipping companies is expected to be announced before the end of this year.

According to him, besides Sovcomflot, only foreign companies have expertise for exporting coal from the North Star deposit, and a consortium with Russian participation could also win the tender. In this way, he commented on the words of the Director General of Sovcomflot Igor Tonkovidov that the group had not yet made a decision on participation in the tender, while bulk shipments and coal hardly fit into the group's development strategy.

The North Star company plans to fully complete the project of creating a coal cluster based on the Syradasay deposit (Krasnoyarsk Territory) in 2040, Trotsenko previously specified. It is planned to build an enrichment plant for deep processing of coal (production of coal concentrates from coking coal), a sea terminal, an airport, a rotation camp, a power plant, and a road.

The Syradasay coal deposit is located 105-120 km southeast of the Dikson settlement, the resources of the deposit are estimated at more than 5 billion tons.
